Descriptive Writing

Our description of Michael Jackson in the 1990s

On stage, our favourite superstar Michael Jackson looks wild! He has funky, long, curly hair, bright red lipstick which makes him look a bit like a girl. Also, his arms are covered in some kind of metallic stuff. His body is adorned with silver and gold outfits that shimmer and sparkle under the lights. He reminds us of an Egyptian. Sometimes he performs rock n roll moves. Michael Jackson is an incredible singer.

Music from the eighties

Vanilla Ice: Ice Ice Baby

Cyndi Lauper: Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Madonna: Like a Prayer

Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Madonna: Who's That Girl?

New Kids on the Block: Step by Step

Songs for assembly

Michael Jackson: Billie Jean

This song is not from the eighties (it is from 2015 we think) but we like it.

Proud authors

These are our favourite pieces of writing.

Dance in the 1980s

We are learning the synchronized dance moves from the eighties. Me and Abby were practicing all lunchtime!

Fashion in the 1980s

The clothes from the 1980's were quite different to the clothes that we wear now. They wore lots of funky accessories like belts, sideways caps, hooped earrings and tons of bangles. They had crazy, funky hairstyles. Some of them teased their hair. We have started to dress up like stars from the 1980's.

Swimming!

I am Max and I love swimming time.

Hairstyles in the 1980s

Georja- Rose explains what a mullet is.

In the 1980's they had funky hairstyles. One of the bands have mullets. Let me explain what a mullet is. A mullet is a hairstyle from the old decade. A mullet nearly looks like a mohawk but a mullet is long at the back and short in the front. It's fancy and kind of funny.

Writing skills

The Full Stops writing group have been learning to sound out words by clapping the sounds then writing each one. Here we are learning this new skill.

Disco Fun

We all had fun at the disco last Friday night, where we dressed up as our favourite pop or rock star from one of the decades.
